Assignments, Late Work, Homework and Organization
All students must have a planner (can be an electronic device) for tracking classwork and assignments. Parents and students should also consult the teacher web pages at the Mountain Ridge Middle School website for assignments. My assignment calendar is found on my webpage at andriesemath.weebly.com. All assignments should be kept in a graphing spiral notebook. Students will quickly get lost and overwhelmed if they do not keep up on their daily assignments and homework. If students say they are done with a class or homework assignment, they should be able to show you this in their spiral notebook. I check homework in their spirals at the beginning of class. If they do not have it completed, it is marked as missing (M) in Infinite Campus (student/parent portal). Late work is not accepted, although some grace is offered during the first quarter. :) If the student is absent, it is noted as such in the parent portal. This will be changed to a full credit score providing they show the assignment to me by the following Monday.
There is generally class time given to start homework so students can ask questions if needed. Students may also see me during Access time if they need help with homework. I do not assign homework on Fridays or over the weekend. That is your family time! :)
If students need extra practice on certain concepts, they can refer to the skills test we took during the first week of school and they can use my links or google to get extra practice.
Absences and Make-Up Work
If student misses school or class for any reason:
• It is the student’s responsibility to check the website for classwork and homework. Please see me to pick up handouts or email if you have questions.
• The student is responsible for anything covered during the class period(s) missed and should get any class notes from a classmate or myself.
• If an assessment is missed, student should see me on during Access to make it up.
• If group work was missed, check in with your group to see what you need to do to catch up.
